Tesla brings its high-performance electric car expertise to the upscale compact crossover class with the Model Y. Looking less awkward than the larger Model X, this car has a more conventional design overall, leaving out the X’s “falcon wing” rear doors. A previous over-the-air (OTA) software update could cause the vehicle not to display the correct visual warning indicators when there are problems with the brake system or when the parking brake is applied. If you shift to reverse while the computer resets, there may be a delay before the rearview camera image appears on the touchscreen.
